Where Does it End?

Posted on May 8, 2025May 9, 2025 by Victor

What light through yonder window breaks?
Is it from the east?
It is not the sun,
It is a fireball and a mushroom cloud.

Where will you be when it all ends?
With the embrace of family?
In the secured basement hideaway

Huddled and snuggled with your partner?
Accept the final few moments of Earth
Dreaming of a pact to reconnect in the afterlife.

Stuck at school in absolute pandemonium
No way to communicate with family and loved ones.

Worst-case scenario at work
Stuck with your least favorite
Especially Karen from finance.

Why does it end?
Megalomaniacs & Oligarchies
Power & Money
Tyrants and Dictators
1% vs 99% angst
General malaise of the population,
Did nothing, so here we are.
We became, were the people.

One wacky day away
With so many nation-state enemies
One button away
It’s how we fear the inevitable day!

Those who ignore history
Will repeat it in ignorance
It will be the darkest dark
Before the light at the tunnel’s end.

Eclipse to apocalypse.
In the blink of an eye.

No walking dead
No zombies
Just death and destruction
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust.

Wear Sunscreen!
